Lucknow, April 15 The UP Police received a setback today when they found that Anis Radiowala, a member of Ejaz Lakadwala gang who was arrested for planning to kill singer Himesh Reshammiya, has managed to escape after submitting a fake bail bond at the Barabanki court.
The matter came to light when Barabanki police was alerted that Radiowala managed to secure release from the jail on Monday. The police, then, checked the court documents, including the bail bond and verified with the guarantors. The police have submitted a report at the Barabanki court, which has fixed April 21 for the hearing. The court has also ordered to produce all the four persons in the court whose name has been made as guarantor in the fake bail bond.
“Of the four persons whose bail bond were submitted in the court, three claimed that they were not aware of whose bail bond they were signing. The identity of the fourth person could not be traced as picture pasted on the bond does not match with the person,” said Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal.
Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, Praveen Kumar said that four bail bonds under the names of Deo Narayan Verma, Hari Lal Verma, Ram Lal Verma and Kanhai Lal Verma were submitted to the Barabanki court around a week ago.
As per the rules, the bail bond should be sent to the concerned police station to check the verification of the guarantor. Lal said that no verification report was sent to the police and Radiowala was released from Barabanki jail.
On July 25, the police arrested four members of Mumbai underworld don Ejaz Lakadwala’s gang—— Anis Radiowala, Mohammed Rahim Khan, Ishrat Warsi and Namdeo— for allegedly planning to kill Reshammiya and film producer-director Raj Kumar Santoshi over extortion demands. They were arrested from Dewa Road in Barabanki district. The police had said that they were also planning to kidnap a gutka trader in Lucknow.
